Expert Group on Cloud Computing Services and Standards

Working Group on Provision and Use of Cloud Services (WGPUCS)

 

Terms of Reference

 

  1. Develop best practices and guidelines on cloud services definition, services provision, adoption, management, contracting practices and service level agreement;
  2. Identify and advise on potential use case and recommend the development of common services;
  3. Engage the industry, academia and/or research institutions to identify the strength and weakness of local industry and market opportunities for cloud service provisions;
  4. Propose industry facilitation measures to promote the adoption and development of innovative products and/or services;
  5. Promote the local awareness and adoption on cloud computing;
  6. Propose training scopes to nurture the development of cloud computing professionals in Hong Kong;
  7. Introduce advanced and emerging cloud technologies and services to the ICT industry and private sector; and
  8. Identify and assess research and development projects that warrant financial support through funding schemes such as the Innovation and Technology Fund.

 

Expected Deliverables of the WGPUCS

 

  1. Best practices and guidelines on cloud services definition, services provision, adoption, management, contracting practices and service level agreement;
  2. Recommended use cases on cloud computing and services;
  3. Measures to promote local awareness on cloud computing;
  4. Recommended training scopes on cloud computing for ICT professionals; and
  5. Measures to develop and promote innovative products, solutions and/or services on cloud computing.
