Computer Emergency Response Centre ServicesIn the Cyber space, computer security incidents would happen disregard timezone or geographical boundaries in the global Internet. Resolution of any computer security incident generally involves many sites, which may be located in various places around the world.
The Government recognises the importance of cyber security and has been facilitating the Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre (HKCERT) to providing assistance to the community in the protection against computer security threats, in the prevention of virus and hacking attacks, and in recovery actions for computer security incidents.
HKCERT provides a centralised contact on computer security incident reporting and response for local organisations, small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs), and Internet users in case of security incidents. It also collaborates with other Computer Emergency Response Teams to coordinate response and recovery actions for reported incidents, help monitor and disseminate information on security related issues, advise on preventive measures against security threats, and participate in security drill exercises.
HKCERT also organises awareness seminars and training courses on information security related topics, and coordinates local information security incident response drill exercises on a regular basis. You are encouraged to visit the HKCERT's website (https://www.hkcert.org/home) from time to time for its extensive cyber security services.
