To assist the Deputy Government Chief Information Officer (Operation) in the grade management functions for the Analyst/Programmer and Computer Operator grades.

To formulate programmes and initiatives on IT professional development within the Government.

To provide IT professional training within the Government.
|
| (d) |
To manage the e-business and network services within the OGCIO.
|
| (e) |
To monitor local and international developments on Internet domain name administration and to oversee the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited in the administration of .hk Internet domain names.

| (f) |
To develop and maintain the information security management framework within the OGCIO.
|
| (g) |
To co-ordinate corporate planning and change management programmes of the OGCIO.
|
| (h) |
To provide IT management for some 20 bureaux/departments without IT Management Unit setup.
