Delegation to visit Australia on IT exchange

The Secretary for Information Technology and Broadcasting, Mr K C Kwong, will lead a delegation to visit Australia between October 27 and 30 for bilateral discussions under the Memorandum of Understanding on IT co-operation (MOU) concluded with Australia in June this year and for participation in the Interact Asia Pacific Multimedia Festival.
Members of the delegation include representatives from the Information Technology and Broadcasting Bureau, Hongkong Post, Immigration Department, Tradelink and the IT industry.
Mr Kwong will first fly to Canberra where he will meet the Chief Government Information Officer of Australia, Ms Glenys Roper, and senior government officials to discuss issues of common interest under the MOU.
In Melbourne, the delegation will call on Mr Alan Stockdale, Treasurer of the Government of Victoria. They will also have meetings with the Australian Electrical and Mechanical Manufacturers Association and the Australian Information Industry Association; attend the Interact Asia Pacific Multimedia Festival; visit the Victorian Government Maxi Project on electronic service delivery and the Keypost, the Certification Authority in Australia.
On October 28, Mr Kwong will deliver a keynote speech at the Asia Pacific Smart Card Forum at noon and address an E-commerce symposium in the afternoon.
Mr Kwong will return to Hong Kong on Friday (October 30).
