Sharing of experience and knowledge of e-commerce in seminar

Overseas speakers will share their experience and knowledge of e-commerce with participants of the "E-commerce in the New Millennium Seminar" for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to be held on May 31 (Wednesday).
Organised by the Information Technology Services Department (ITSD) and the Asia Oceania Electronic Messaging Association of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation, the seminar is aimed at enhancing the awareness and knowledge on e-commerce of the local SMEs.
Apart from local speakers, representatives from renowned organisations in Australia, Japan, and the United States will bring in their experience and knowledge of e-commerce from the global and Asian-Pacific perspectives.
This seminar is one of a series of events organised by ITSD in promoting the adoption of e-commerce in Hong Kong.
The previous event was an e-commerce forum for SMEs held on 8 March 2000 when the participants were provided with local experience and knowledge about the adoption of e-commerce and how to select suitable solutions available in the market.
Major topics of this seminar include the definition and implementation of e-commerce; the new business paradigm - partnerships and communities; investment and payment over the Internet; e-commerce enablement for small business, and the security and legal issues.
To be conducted in English, the seminar will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai, Hong Kong, between 8.30 am and 5 pm on May 31.
