The signing of a strategic partnership agreement between Hong Kong Cyberport (Cyberport) and Shenzhen Hi-Tech Industrial Park (SHIP), witnessed by Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Donald Tsang and Mayor of Shenzhen Mr Li Hongzhong, today (June 17), opens a new chapter in the collaboration on IT development between the two places.

Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited Nicholas Yang said, "Taking full advantage of the opportunities brought about by CEPA (Mainland and Hong Kong Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement), Cyberport will co-operate with SHIP in a complementarily advantageous manner to further enhance the development of IT industries at both places."

Under the agreement, the Cyberport and SHIP will enter into various forms of co-operation, including in the areas of development of innovative IT applications, marketing, and human resources development.

Hong Kong Cyberport will leverage Hong Kong's core competence to spearhead the long-term development of IT industry, and will try to build additional collaborations or strategic partnerships with other major hi-tech industrial parks on the Mainland in the same complementarily advantageous manner.
