A central co-ordination role has been taken up by the OGCIO on the use of digital certificates in Government in the following areas :

  • Promotion on the use of digital certificates in government;
  • Survey of the need for digital certificates in bureaux and departments;
  • Arrangement with recognized certification authorities on procedures regarding the application for digital certificates;
  • Liaison with the recognized certification authorities about Government's requirements on digital certificates and CA services, and compatibility and interoperability issues; and
  • Provision of advisory support to bureaux and departments on the use and handling of digital certificates.
