Facilitating Industry Liaison
Regular contacts in the form of networking hour and discussion forum are being made with major IT players such as the Hong Kong Information Technology Federation (HKITF), the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and the Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS), the Information and Software Industry Association Limited (ISIA), the Internet Professional Association (iProA), trade associations and etc. The objective is to build up connections, disseminate information on Government IT policies, and explore collaboration opportunities. The last Networking Hour was held in Cyberport on 10 July 2006.
Promoting IT in the Business Sector
To enable Hong Kong companies, especially SMEs, to embark on E-Commerce and to explore new markets and strengthen their competitiveness, a number of seminars were held in collaboration with other organisations.
Also, OGCIO, with the industry organisations and associations, is cooperating on Sector-specific Programme to help trade sector, beauty service sector, watches and clocks sector, medical and health sector, and social service sector adopt IT in their business.
