Seminar on Usability and Accessibility Considerations
in Website Implementation
( 28 November 2003)
The seminar on "Usability and Accessibility Considerations in Website Implementation" was held on 28 November 2003 at Theatre 2, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the aim to provide audience with the key design concepts and techniques to make websites more accessible to people with disability. It was jointly organised by the Information Technology Services Department (ITSD) and the Internet Professionals Association (iProA). Over 280 audience attended the seminar. Majority of them found the presentations useful and inspiring on improving web accessibility.

A mini-exhibition hall was set
up to display a wide range of assistive tools for people
with disabilities, including English/Cantonese screen
readers, Braille display, screen magnifier, scanning keyboard,
suck and blow switch and etc. The new accessibility features
incorporated in the latest release of Acrobat software
were also displayed for
hands-on trial. |
