To facilitate faster system development, the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, has been introduced in the OGCIO. RAD makes use of advanced computer tools and techniques such as prototyping, time-boxing and iterative development to shorten system delivery time. In addition, RAD encourages user involvement during system development. As a result of the application of RAD, more systems of higher quality can be developed and implemented at lower cost.

An Introduction to RAD	RAD Procedures Guide
This document gives an introduction of the Rapid Application Development methodology in OGCIO. The major components of RAD are described and explained.	This document describes the RAD task structure and procedures involved in conducting RAD projects.
RAD Documentation Guide
This document provides documentation guidelines for deliverables that need documentation standards in conducting RAD projects. The definition and contents of those deliverables are explained in the document.

The documents mentioned above were compiled by OGCIO based on the reports prepared by a consultant at the commission of the Government of HKSAR.
