Central Cyber Government Office (CCGO)
CCGO is a wealth of information and electronic services that officers in bureaux and departments need in support of their day-to-day operation. These resources are brought together at a single point of access on the desktop computer. They are managed and can be accessed using Internet technology.
If you have experience in using the world wide web, you would appreciate how easy it is to obtain the information that you need when you need it. CCGO is a web service that is built on a service-wide Intranet for government officers.
From the CCGO, you can:
o Look up reference materials like Civil Service Regulations, circulars, manuals, IT information on the ITG InfoStation etc. from the digital libraries at your finger-tip;Come to experience CCGO and explore opportunities to make use of the Intranet/Internet, including examples of electronic procurement, helpdesk/inquiry and balanced scorecard (a web-based solution to measure the performance of an organization from perspectives on financial, customer, internal processes, and learning and growth).
The following topics are featured in this week:
What business solutions will you imagine that can use palmtop devices and mobile phones to access corporate data anytime and anywhere? How can your enterprise applications be integrated with mobile devices using mobile and Internet technologies?
We will provide the answers to the above questions in our presentation and illustrate by examples using mobile devices to access enterprise web application and other business systems.
With the rapid expansion of Internet technology and electronic commerce, smart cards are now more widely accepted in the commercial market as stored-value card. Besides, smart card can also enhance your office and network security, provide personal identification and even resume personalized session at any client station.
In the presentation, we will illustrate the use of smart card technology in this area and demonstrate the concept of one smart card for multiple function. You will experience how the smart card will work with you in a typical working day.

Software, like other valuable assets in your Bureau or Department, must be managed throughout its life cycle to achieve its potential benefit. With the extensive use of IT in government offices, we have to manage our software asset properly to ensure its legitimacy and to prevent unauthorised use of the software asset.
In the presentation, we will propagate the concept, guidelines and procedures for software asset management (SAM). You will experience how desktop management tools, including software inventory management, software distribution and software metering, can facilitate the SAM process.
Are you prepared for virus attacks? What are at risk? Where is your organization vulnerable? How to prevent virus attacks?
You will find out the answers to the above questions in our presentation. We will also demonstrate the available tools for maintaining anti-virus utilities.
Do you want to enhance your messaging systems? Do you want to streamline your manual workflow process electronically? Do you want to increase your office efficiency and productivity by minimizing the extra and duplicate work process?
We will demonstrate how you can streamline your day-to-day operation by introducing the concept of workflow on your messaging systems. In the demonstration, we will provide a set of applications as an example to let you know how to apply the workflow concept seemlessly and electronically.
Do you want to send fax through your messaging systems? Or send fax directly from your desktop applications? Do you want to have centralised electronic document filing for fax, email messages, scanned documents and other document files?
We will demonstrate how the tight integration of fax solutions with messaging systems, electronic filing systems and other applications bring about benefits, such as saving time, costs and resources, improving accuracy and performance, to the end-users.
