The OGCIO Central Computer Centre (CCC) is a key part of the Government's critical information technology (IT) infrastructure. It operates three data centres in Wanchai on the Hong Kong Island, Sai Kung in East Kowloon and Tsuen Wan in the New Territories.
The CCC operates round-the-clock throughout the year. It provides system hosting (operation, management and maintenance) services for the Government's central IT infrastructure and departmental information systems. It also provides disaster recovery (DR) facilities for the Government's mission critical systems. The CCC operates a network control centre that monitors the government-wide data network and critical network devices and a central help desk.
The Government's central IT systems that the CCC supports include the following :
o the Government Backbone Network (GNET),
o the Central Internet Gateway (CIG),
o the Central Cyber Government Office (CCGO) which is the government's central internal information portal,
o the Government Communication Network (GCN) for internal electronic mail exchange, and
o a number of back-end systems of the GovHK online services.
