Cyberport occupies a spectacular 24-hectare site at Telegraph Bay, on the southwest side of Hong Kong Island. Completed in 2004, the US$2 billion development has become regional headquarters for a cluster of IT and related companies. Besides offices, the complex includes a five-star hotel and a retail entertainment complex, creating a synthesis of technology, business and people in a model 'linked' society of the future.

Cyberport has the vision of becoming a leading information technology hub in this digital city of the Asia-Pacific region. Its public missions are:

(a) To create a strategic cluster of quality IT and IT related companies critical to the development of Hong Kong into a leading digital city in the region;

(b) To nurture and support the development of small and medium IT enterprises as an essential constituent of such a strategic cluster;

(c) To provide a state-of-the-art infrastructure conducive to the creation of such a strategic cluster and its development;

(d) To develop a regional centre of excellence in IT and digital media training for creating human capital through collaboration and partnership with the industry, academia, and research institutes and professional bodies;

(e) To spearhead the development of the digital media industry through the provision of hardware, software and technical support; and

(f) To promote the development of services and applications for wireless and mobile communications leveraging on Cyberport's excellent infrastructure and synergy.

Cyberport provides its tenants and the industry with comprehensive communal facilities and resources, which include Digital Media Centre, iResource Centre, Cyberport Digital Entertainment Incubation-cum-Training Centre, and Hong Kong Wireless Development Centre. These centres provide the digital media industry with post-production facilities and technology support, multi-media resources, industry training as well as an integrated environment for wireless technology testing and demonstration.

During the years, Cyberport has received the following prestigious awards:

(a) United Nations' World Summit Awards 2007 (e-business category) to the "Digital Copyright.hk, One-Stop Digital Content Marketplace" developed by iResource Centre of Cyberport;

(b) "Intelligent Building of the Year 2005" (Commercial Portion of Cyberport) conferred by Asian Institute of Intelligent Buildings in January 2006;

(c) "Design for Asia Award 2005" for the interior design of Broadway Cyberport conferred by Hong Kong Design Centre in November 2005; and

(d) Energy Efficiency for each office building of Cyberport 1, 2, 3 and 4 and the Arcade conferred by Electrical and Mechanical Services Department, The Government of the HKSAR in 2005.
