IT Career Expo 2014

2014.03.01

To let the public better understand the IT career of Hong Kong and its prospect, we participated in the IT Career Expo 2014 which was organised by the Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS) on 1 March 2014 at the Hong Kong Productivity Council Building. It is the only career expo organised in Hong Kong with a focus on IT and our Deputy Government Chief Information Officer (Policy and Community), Miss Joey Lam, JP, delivered a speech in the Opening Ceremony.

The IT Career Expo consisted of three career elements – recruitment, start-up and further study. Through exhibition and seminars, it provided one-stop career information to visitors at various career stages. There were over 30 organisations participating in the IT Career Expo 2014 to offer over 200 IT job vacancies. Besides, participating exhibitors including local tertiary institutions and professional & continuing education institutions also provided information on selection of IT courses and further studies. The Expo attracted more than 1 400 visitors including tertiary students, fresh IT graduates, working IT professionals and parents.

We set up an exhibition booth in the Expo to show visitors information about the contributions and achievements of Hong Kong IT industry, demand for IT talents, prospects of IT career in Hong Kong, and the analyst/programmer grade within the government establishment.
