Admission Requirements

  • A recognised Associate Degree or Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification in computer science, engineering, science, statistics or related disciplines.

    Note: The main medium of instruction of the study programmes concerned should be English. Applicants who have completed programmes with other language as the main medium of instruction are required to attain the following English Language requirement: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 (paper based)/ 80 (internet based).

  • Applicants who have not completed, at sub-degree level, prior studies which are comparable to the foundation subject(s), will be required to take the respective foundation subject(s) after admission. Prior knowledge in linear algebra is required before admission for BSc (Hons) in Applied Sciences (Statistics and Data Science).

Internship Opportunities

Students of BSc (Hons) in Applied Sciences (Statistics and Data Science) or BSc (Hons) in Applied Sciences (Information Systems and Web Technologies) are eligible to apply for the 1-year internship programme* offered by ICO Limited.

*The internship programme is subject to annual review.

BSc (Hons) in Applied Sciences (Information Systems and Web Technologies):

Employment
Graduates will be capable of taking up posts like Application Programmers, Network Engineers, Database Administrators, Information Technology Support, Specialist Consultant, Website developer, Website Administrator etc.

Students of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Applied Sciences (Statistics and Data Science) are eligible for exemption from Modules 1, 2, 3 and 5 of the Hong Kong Statistical Society’s Graduate Diploma if they have completed the required specific subjects with satisfactory results upon completion of the programme. Besides, students are able to obtain professional certifications, for instance, SAS® Global Certification Program.
