Promoting ICT Adoption among SMEs

The vast majority of businesses in Hong Kong are the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the extent of their adoption of information and communications technology (ICT) is key to Hong Kong's development as a digital economy. Over the years, the Government and the ICT industry have joined hands to facilitate the wider adoption of ICT among SMEs. Through the OGCIO's Sector-specific Programme (SSP) and IT Training Programme for SMEs (ITTP), we have supported 25 projects for 17 business sectors [1] from 2004 to 2015 and all projects were successfully completed, benefiting over 39 000 practitioners from SMEs.

Remark 1: Namely travel industry, medical and health, drugstores, accounting, beauty service, logistics, trade, watches and clocks, social service, supply chain, security, wholesale/retail, land transport, Chinese medicine practitioners, social enterprises, manufacturing and general industries.
