Smart Elderly Recognition Scheme

To incentivise the ICT usage by elderly, the OGCIO launched the Smart Elderly Awards in 2012-13 to show appreciation to those elderly who use ICT actively in their daily lives. Nearly 2 000 seniors were given gold, silver, bronze and diamond awards as recognition. The Awards Presentation Ceremony was held on 12 April 2013 with around 700 elderly participants.

In addition, we organised the Smart Elderly IT Star Awards in 2013-14 to recognise those elderly who have made most effective use of ICT to create impact on their quality of life, on others and on the community. The judging panel selected 12 Smart Elderly IT Stars from 115 nominations. The awards presentation ceremony was held on 17 April 2014. About 500 people attended the ceremony.
