Enriched ICT Training Programme for the Elderly (2024-2026)
Background
The Office of the Government Chief Information Officer (OGCIO) launched the Enriched ICT Training Programme for the Elderly (the Training Programme) from 2019 onwards. The two rounds of the Training Programme introduced in February 2019 and December 2021 respectively were completed and well received by the elderly participants. Therefore, we launch a new round of the Training Programme in 2024.
OGCIO openly invited applications from Elder Academy (EA) in October 2023. The selected applications commenced implementation of the Training Programme in February 2024 for a period of two years.
Target Beneficiaries
Elderly people aged 60 or above with basic ICT knowledge.
Courses Provided
Each funded EA provides various types of ICT courses. In addition to commonly used Government mobile applications like “iAM Smart”, training topics also cover smart healthcare, online shopping, mobile payment, Mainland mobile apps frequently used by the elderly, social media, e-wallet and cyber security, etc.
