Government Backbone Network GNET

The Government Backbone Network (GNET) is a government-wide network infrastructure that provides stable, reliable and high resilience broadband network connections to government bureaux, departments, as well as common services. Besides communicating with other GNET clients through its own GNET connections, a GNET client can also access the outside world through Central Internet Services.

Bureaux, departments and common services connect either through Metro Ethernet WAN or via local Ethernet ports to GNET Points of Presence which include the OGCIO Central Computer Centre (CCC) and a number of government office buildings.
