Learning and Teaching Expo 2019

At the Learning and Teaching Expo 2019 held from 11 to 13 December 2019, four partner schools of the Enriched IT Class Programme (EITC) exhibited their award-winning projects and shared good IT teaching and learning outcomes for reference by other schools for promoting IT learning in Hong Kong. The four partner schools are: Christian Alliance SW Chan Memorial College, Pak Kau College, Shun Tak Fraternal Association Yung Yau College, and St. Paul’s Convent School. Mr Victor Lam, Government Chief Information Officer, visited their booth on 11 December 2019 and encouraged students to pursue development in the IT industry in future.

On 13 December 2019, another partner school, The Y.W.C.A Hioe Tjo Yoeng College, also presented its teaching experience on STEM education, including experience gained from implementing the EITC, during the “InnoSTEMer” session.

 

 

About the Enriched IT Programme in Secondary Schools

The Enriched IT Programme in Secondary Schools is an eight-year initiative (from 2015/16 to 2022/23 school year) aiming to nurture young IT professionals and even entrepreneurs to meet the development needs of a digital society. The programme comprises two complementary elements as follows –

  1. Enriched IT Class Programme – Eight partner schools will provide intensive IT training to secondary students who are interested and talented in IT.
  2. Enriched IT Activities Programme – IT activities will be organised by other secondary schools to foster a pro-IT atmosphere and stimulate interest in IT in the school community.
