Learning and Teaching Expo 2021

At the Learning and Teaching Expo 2021 held from 8 to 10 December 2021, partner schools of the Enriched IT Programme in Secondary Schools and participating schools of the IT Innovation Lab in Secondary Schools programme exhibited their award-winning work for promoting IT learning in Hong Kong. The schools are: Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School, Shun Tak Fraternal Association Yung Yau College, Christian Alliance SW Chan Memorial College, St. Paul’s Convent School, and Man Kwan Pak Kau College. Mr Victor Lam, Government Chief Information Officer, visited their booth on 8 December 2021 and encouraged students to pursue development in the IT industry in future.

 

 

About the Enriched IT Programme in Secondary Schools

The Enriched IT Programme in Secondary Schools is an eight-year initiative (from 2015/16 to 2022/23 school year) aiming to nurture young IT professionals and even entrepreneurs to meet the development needs of a digital society. The programme comprises two complementary elements as follows –

  1. Enriched IT Class Programme – Eight partner schools will provide intensive IT training to secondary students who are interested and talented in IT.
  2. Enriched IT Activities Programme – IT activities will be organised by other secondary schools to foster a pro-IT atmosphere and stimulate interest in IT in the school community.

About the Enriched IT Programme in Secondary Schools

The IT Innovation Lab in Secondary Schools programme provides funding support of up to $1 million in the three school years from 2019/20 to 2021/22 for each public sector and Direct Subsidy Scheme secondary school to upgrade their IT equipment and facilities and organise IT-related extra-curricular activities.
