Admission Requirements

Applicants with Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) results must meet:

1. the General Entrance Requirements; and
2. the School-specific Requirements.

General Entrance Requirements: 1․ Four core subjects:(a) Chinese Language at Level 3 or above․(b) English Language at Level 3 or above․(c) Mathematics (Compulsory Module) at Level 3 or above(d) Liberal Studies at Level 2 or above․ 2․ Two electives:(a) Elective 1 at Level 3 or above․(b) Elective 2, or Mathematics Extended Modules (M1 or M2) at Level 3 or above․School-specific Requirements:Electives should be one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, ICT, or Combined Science․

Admission Requirements

Note:

  1. Special consideration for admission may also be given to applicants who had excellent achievements in STEM subjects.
    If applicants apply to School of Engineering, put HKUST programme(s) in Band A JUPAS choice and fulfil the followings:
    1. No more than one level examination grade in one subject marginally less than the University minimum entrance requirement, i.e. 332233; and
    2. At least 3 stars or above among the STEM subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics (Compulsory Part), Mathematics Extended Module 1 or 2, Information & Communication Technology, Designed & Applied Technology, Integrated Science, Combined Science) with combinations listed below:
      1. At least One 5** and One 5* subjects; or
      2. At least Three 5* subjects
