Education and Careers Expo 2014

To promote Hong Kong IT industry to the public, we participated in the Education and Careers Expo 2014 which was organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) during 13 - 16 February 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. More than 760 exhibitors from 18 countries and regions participated in the Expo which was composed of two main zones (i.e. the Education Zone and Careers Zone). About 120 events including seminars, workshops and trial tutorial classes were held over the Expo period. Similar to last year, around a few thousands of local students, job seekers, practitioners and professionals visited the Expo.
We set up an exhibition booth with the theme “IT Industry, IT Career and IT Profession” in the Careers Zone to show visitors information about the contributions and achievements of Hong Kong IT industry, demand for IT talents and prospects of IT career in Hong Kong.
Moreover, we organised an open seminar titled “Experience Sharing of Young IT Practitioners” on 15 February 2014. We invited four young speakers for the seminar, they were Miss Candy Ng (Analyst Programmer I of the OGCIO), Mr Knuckles Cheung (Technical Manager of the App Mocha Limited), Mr Jerry Chan (Senior Systems Analyst of the Manulife Insurance Limited), and Mr Stark Chan (CEO of the Bull.B Technology Limited). They shared their valuable working experiences and views with the audiences on the future development of IT industry of Hong Kong.
